Great news from the National Lotteyr Community Fund today, #NationalLottery.

As you may be aware we have had a few near misses where children have run out into the road when playing on the play equipment. The gate can not be changed as it needs to be suitable for all, including wheel chairs and mobility scooters.

Our plan was to put ROSPA approved fencing arround the play area. Our local councilors were very generous and gave us a £2000 grant towards the costs, which is over £13k. The village hall is putting in £1000 leaving a shortfall of just under £10k. Kevin applied for a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund and they have generously met all the additional funding we needed.

We thank the National Lottery Community Fund and our Local Councilors, Mark Ault and Michael Staines who have made it possible to make our children safer.

Work has now been authorised with Harper Fencing and we plan to start early Q4 2026.
